New Accoya Doors

I’ve just fitted these new Accoya doors in Gosforth and Kenton this past week.      The timber is remarkable stuff, have a look at their website for more information www.accoya.com Here’s a snippet from their website about the wood:   Due to its improved properties – such as increased durability, improved thermal insulation and […]

Summer holidays are over.

Well the summer holidays are nearly over and in joinery towers it’s back to work and school. I have some interesting projects planned for the next few months from hanging doors, kitchens and flooring and much more. I’ll keep updating the posts with more information and pictures as the work progresses so keep an eye […]

Staircase Alterations

A great staircase refurbishment in Tynemouth. Removing the old decorative metalwork that was put in sometime in the 60’s and fitting new primed hemlock base rail and chamfered spindles. I think you’ll agree it looks much better now and my customer is delighted. Those doors downstairs may be next on the list […]

Another House Full of Doors

Hanging 12 of these lovely oak pre-finished doors to a house in Tynemouth. Nice solid brass oval knobs as well.

A Nice Bit of Roofing

I’ve been working on re-roofing this flat roofed garage and utility in Ponteland. The old roof was leaky and rotten so it needed replacing so my customer decided to put a pitched roof on. Planning permission was granted and work started in sections to minimise the water damage underneath. As the roof went on the […]

New kitchen fitted in Benton

Just put the finishing touches to this lovely gloss grey kitchen in Benton this week. The old kitchen was stripped out together with the tiled stone flooring. Re-wired, re-plumbed and the plasterwork repaired. The decorator is in next to paint the walls, ceiling and woodwork.

Oak Staircase Referbishment

A lovely oak staircase refurbishment in Ponteland this week. The original handrail and banisters were solid 60’s plywood panels with a flat handrail. All this was stripped back and the newels extended to suit the new handrail height. New oak base rail, handrail and spindles fitted and the newels clad in oak with new caps. All very splendid. […]

Doors doors and even more doors!

My last job of 2016 was hanging a lot of oak doors for a customer in Stannington. All finished and looking great, waiting for a few coats of Danish oil. Here’s a couple of photos of some the doors.   Happy Christmas everyone and all the best for the New Year.

Shelving Galore!

There’s been a lot of shelving and cupboards going on recently. Ranging from floating shelves, bookcases, bookcase extensions and cupboards. All very splendid and smart, just a lick of paint and they will look great.

A Sedum Roof

An unusual job for me to lay a sedum roof but it followed on from the rest of the work so it seemed to make sense. Starting with building a new flat roof over the existing double garage and shipping container. Then the EPDM rubber roof went on followed by the drainage layer, aggregate then […]
