I’ve been working on an interesting job this last week fitting out an old shipping container to take a biomass boiler and a hopper for five tonnes of wood pellets.
The container was insulated and fully ply lined then a fire proof partition built between the boiler and the hopper. The hopper was formed using plywood cut to form sloping sides down to the auger box so the pellets fall into the screw thread and are then fed up into the boiler. A bit of a complicated job with all the compound angles and cuts, lots of head scratching and calculations.
The last picture shows the Biomass boiler installed with the auger motor fitted above so the wood pellets fall into the boiler hopper. Just waiting for the delivery of wood pellets.
